“Bertille Bak. Voices from the Earth”

The first solo exhibition by Bertille Bak (*Arras, 1983) at a Swiss museum presents a carefully curated selection of the artist’s recent works, offering a critical reflection on the contemporary world of labour and its abuses.

At the core of Bak’s practice lies the human being, the importance of engaging with marginalised communities, and labour. Situated at the intersection of sociological documentary and fiction, realism and burlesque, her work interweaves personal and collective narratives, creating a “story factory” that reinvents the everyday and proposes a poetic form of resistance to the harshness of reality.
