The Gallery La volta

In 2005 the Museo Vincenzo Vela purchased a rich collection of sculptor's tools and chisels,  very similar to those used by Vincenzo Vela and his assistants.
The tools (including a forge, anvil, mallet, scalpel, gradine and bushmammer) are now displayed in the Gallery La Volta. The gallery has been created out of an ancient passage once used as a store, close to the laboratory, that the sculptor at one time used as a studio to transpose the preparatory plaster models  in blocks of marble.
