The collections reflect the nature of the house-museum of a personality - Vincenzo Vela - heavily involved in the events of his time as an artist and a patriot.
The main collection of the museum is constituted by the extensive ensemble of original plaster models of almost all sculptures realised by Vela.
Comprised of the private collections of the three Velas, it contains remarkable works by Lombard and Piedmontese artists from the second half of the nineteenth century.
The museum presents over a thousand sheets (autograph drawings, academic sketches, preparatory studies) made by Vela and his contemporaries.
